Jim Barr is a professional photographer who creates fine art and stock photographs of the American landscape. Based in Anchorage, Alaska he seeks to photograph the Total Landscape: people, wildlife, still life, commerce and industry, lifestyles, and environmental issues all within and relating to the landscape, (plus beautiful scenics). Over his 19 year career as a photographer clients have included British Petroleum, Slumberger, Outside Magazine, The Wilderness Society, Alaska Airlines, and many others. Originally an electrical engineer and project manager in Washington, DC, Jim trained as a painter and then as a photographer. He is also a wilderness guide, Coast Guard licensed small boat captain, and field naturalist. His technical background, artist's training, and broad experience and knowledge allow him to make photographs that are innovative, creative and meaningful.
